Who's That Girl? Some people call me a communications cowboy. Some call me a gangster of design.
I say I'm someone who has a strong eye for composition (I take tons of pictures of my French bulldog wearing her latest costume). I'm someone who is passionate about words (I’m a total grammar nerd. I use punctuation, capitalize letters when appropriate, and always proofread text messages before hitting ‘send’). Oh, and I'm someone who always meets her deadlines (because I need to be home in time to watch the next episode of Peaky Blinders). I also wear many hats—and not just fedoras, beanies, and floppy hippie ones. Some days I’m a project manager. Others? A confidence builder or team leader. How do I do it? The trick is to surrender to the flow (proud Phan since my first show in 1994). |
I knew I was destined to have a career in art when I decided at the age of seven that my cereal box was not properly branded to its target audience: me. A redesign was in order. Of course, I was the only one qualified for the job and promptly proceeded to revamp the box by covering it with images of horses that I'd drawn. I have no idea what they had to do with Boo Berry, but here we are.

A celebration of 50 years gets the red carpet treatment.
Workin' For a Livin'.
They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. I am extremely chatty. Check it out.
My favorite part of being a designer is making the customer happy. When I was at Case Western, I created the marketing materials for Dean Kamen's visit. If you don't know him, he's the inventor of the Segway motorized vehicle. He was so happy with the poster I had designed that he asked to take two of them with him. That right there? Priceless.
